The Transition House is a
place for thinking that we offer to street youths and those in a situation of
risk of becoming street youths. By means of the temporary hostel that is
staffed by professionals, the house has space for 20 youths.
This area facilitates the personal development by means of the
formation of habits, values and capacitatons, in addition of giving them an adequate treatment should they have an
addition, which gives them the opportunity to acquire habits to begin an
independent life, characterized by having a fixed employment, without consuming
substances and not living on the streets.
The entering stages for a street youth are:
Working
in the street. The youth's interest participation and real necessity to
leave the street is appreciated.
Visits
to the Day Center, invited by the educators,
the youths control of drugs, and agreement with agreements and time
schedules is appreciated
Preadmission,
the youth settles in the Casa Transitory for several days, Previous
agreement, where the same points are valued.
Admission,
following the text period, the goals appear that the youth seeks to be
admitted to the transition house
Responsibility
begins the completion of activities in the educational workshops and or
the assistance with school activities if required.
Treatment
for addictions psychological, psychiatric or medical, whatever is required
by the youth. The youth's activities and goals are valued.
Belonging, here the integration and identify with
the projects is evaluated along with the harmony between the youth and
the rest of the youths in the program (educandos)
The
need to egress, the goals of treatment are valued and the saving and
begging of a job is reinforced outside of the institution
The
Graduation the necessity of the child continuing treatment is evaluated.
Follow
up during the first 6 months. The important aspects are the permanent job,
the continuity in the treatment and his/her personal security.
Who is admitted?
::: Adolescents and youths
between the ages of 15 and 23
::: Street educators from El
Caracal or another organization must propose them

They can be either street youths or youths at social risk
