The best way of reducing
number of street youths is by means of prevention.
We consider in social risk those who face situations and problems that can cause them to choose a life
on the street. These problems can include recurrent family conflicts, failure
and poor school performance, and absence of adult authority figures, work and
or belonging to street groups or gangs, use of substance, few or no spaces for
family Living together.
Our prevention plan, Padres y
Amigos, is a program that seeks to strengthen the affective ties and the relation
between families that live in Lorenzo Boturini, Merced Balbuena, Tránsito, y
Jamaica in which 100s of children and youths live in social risk.
The activities which we carry
out involve both the children, adolescents, and parents, which by means of
accompanying their children in their tasks, cinema club with debates, the workshop for parents and
celebration of national festivals and traditions.
In this way, fomenting the
activities together, under a personalized seguimients developmental
alternatives are developed for children and for their families, involving
themselves as participating subjects and which make decision in their own
process of change.
